Featured by Basha High School: A Full-Circle Community Moment at Burst Of Butterflies

We were recently honored to be featured in a student-produced news segment by the Multimedia & Broadcasting class at Basha High School, highlighting the creativity and community impact behind Burst Of Butterflies across our Arizona studios, including our Peoria location.

While this particular feature was filmed at our Chandler studio, the heart of the story reflects what we strive to create at both our Chandler and Peoria locations — welcoming spaces where creativity, connection, and growth come together.

As part of a class assignment, students were tasked with creating a news story highlighting a local business in their community. They chose Burst Of Butterflies, and the result was thoughtful, well-produced, and incredibly meaningful to our team.

A Story Within a Story: Eliza’s Full-Circle Moment

One of the most special parts of this feature is who the students chose to interview.

Eliza, now a valued member of our team, first walked through the doors of Burst Of Butterflies when she was just 8 years old. Over the years, she grew up creating art here — and today, she helps guide others through that same creative experience.

Watching her confidently share her story on camera was one of those full-circle moments that reminds us why we do what we do. Burst Of Butterflies has always been about more than paint or clay — it’s about creating spaces where people grow, connect, and return to again and again.

Spotlight on the Clay Studio

The segment also features Oliver, one of our talented instructors, teaching a clay wheel-throwing class. He did a fantastic job representing the calm, encouraging, and welcoming environment we strive to create in our studios every day.

The students captured the joy, focus, and creativity that happens at the wheel — and did so in a way that felt natural and genuine, not staged or scripted.

Celebrating Student Storytellers

We want to give a huge thank-you to the students and instructors of Basha High School’s Multimedia & Broadcasting program. Their storytelling, camera work, and editing were impressive, and they approached this project with professionalism and heart.

We’ve shared a trimmed version of their broadcast here, focused on the Burst Of Butterflies segment, so our broader community can enjoy the story they created.

Why This Moment Matters

Being chosen for this project meant more to us than the students may realize. It represents:

  • Our roots in the Arizona creative community
  • The long-term impact of welcoming art spaces
  • The power of art to connect generations
  • And the joy of seeing young storytellers lift up local businesses

We are incredibly proud of Eliza, Oliver, and the students who brought this story to life — and grateful to be part of a community that continues to support creativity, learning, and growth at both of our studio locations.

Thank you, Basha High School and the Basha Bear Network, for telling our story so beautifully.
