🌵 Clay Hand-Build: Cactus Planter

Create your own adorable desert-inspired planter!

Join us for a fun and beginner-friendly clay hand-building class where you’ll design and sculpt a small cactus planter.
Students will design either a short, wide planter or a taller, narrow cactus-inspired form (approximately 4–6 inches in height or width depending on your chosen design), making each piece uniquely yours.

This clay hand-building class in Peoria is perfect for beginners in the West Valley looking to try working with clay in a relaxed, creative studio setting.

Perfect for holding a mini cactus or succulent, this textured planter features dimensional “cactus bumps” and an optional flower accent — making it a sweet Arizona-inspired piece for your home or as a gift.

No experience necessary — we’ll guide you step-by-step through:

• Shaping and forming your planter
• Creating cactus ribs, texture, and dimensional details
• Adding decorative details (flower optional!)
• Smoothing and finishing techniques

After building, your piece will be dried and fired in our kiln. Once firing is complete, you’ll return during open studio hours to paint and glaze your planter, choosing colors that make it uniquely yours. Your finished piece will be glaze-fired again for a glossy, food-safe, plant-ready finish.
