Clay Hand-Build: Whimsical Mushroom Pipe

A relaxed, good-vibes clay night with a playful twist.

Settle in for a creative, laid-back evening as you hand-build your own whimsical mushroom pipe from clay.

In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll be guided step-by-step through shaping and assembling your piece using simple hand-building techniques. Inspired by organic, woodland forms, your design can be as playful, rustic, or refined as you like — no two pieces will be the same.

This class is all about enjoying the process, getting your hands in the clay, and creating something a little unexpected.

No experience necessary — we’ll guide you through:
• Forming and shaping your mushroom-inspired design
• Creating a comfortable, functional form
• Adding texture and natural details
• Smoothing and finishing techniques

After your piece is completed, it will be carefully dried and kiln-fired. Once ready, you’ll return during open studio hours to glaze your piece, choosing colors that bring your creation to life.

Whether you’re coming with friends or flying solo, this is a fun and creative way to unwind and try something new.

After the class, your piece will dry and be bisque-fired in our kiln.  Once firing is complete (approximately 10–14 days), you’ll return during open studio hours to paint and glaze choosing colors that make your piece uniquely yours. Your finished piece will then be glaze-fired for a glossy, durable finish.

• All clay and tools (1.5 pounds of clay)
• First kiln firing (bisque fire)
• Complimentary return visit (about 2 weeks later) to paint and glaze your piece
• Final glaze firing

Your finished piece will typically be ready for pickup 7–10 days after glazing.
