At Burst of Butterflies Create & Paint Studio, we want every visit to feel welcoming, inspiring, and stress-free. These studio policies help ensure a positive experience for guests, families, groups, and our team. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation β€” these guidelines keep our studios running safely, efficiently, and enjoyably for everyone.

🎨 General Studio Policies

βœ” Open Studio Painting

  • Walk-ins are welcome during open hours at both locations.
  • Last seating is generally 60 minutes before close to allow enough time to paint.
  • Larger groups (5 or more) are encouraged to call ahead for availability and for a Table Reservation.

βœ” Project Pickup

  • Finished pottery typically takes 7–10 days to fire.
  • We will text when your project is ready.
  • Due to storage limitations, completed projects must be picked up within 30 days unless arranged otherwise.

βœ” Outside Food & Drinks

  • Water bottles are welcome.
  • Outside food is allowed for private parties and select events.
  • For regular studio visits, please check with staff before bringing in food. Most of the time food at your table is ok.
  • Alcohol is permitted only at designated BYOB events and by request in Open Studio Areas and must follow Arizona state guidelines.

⏰ Class & Event Policies

βœ” Arrival Time

Please arrive 10–15 minutes early for classes and events to get checked in, seated, and ready to begin.

βœ” Late Arrivals

Classes begin promptly.

  • Kids & Family classes typically welcome ages 6+ (varies by project).
  • Adult Paint & Sip and wheel throwing events are generally 18+ unless otherwise specified.

πŸ”₯ Clay & Kiln Policies

βœ” Clay Turnaround Times

Clay projects require:

  • drying time
  • a bisque firing
  • optional glazing
  • glaze firing

Typical turnaround is 2–3 weeks.

βœ” Cracks, Breaks & Kiln Variations

Ceramics is both an art and a science.
While rare, cracks, glaze variations, and unexpected kiln reactions can occur.
We handle your pieces with care at every stage, but we cannot guarantee results due to the nature of the medium.

βœ” Re-Firing & Repairs

We offer simple repairs (when possible) and can re-fire glaze issues in many cases.
Some repairs may carry a small fee depending on materials and time.

πŸ‘ͺ Children & Family Guidelines

βœ” Supervision

Children under 14 must be supervised by an adult unless the event is specifically designated as a drop-off kids class.

βœ” Studio Respect

We ask that all children:

  • walk inside the studio
  • respect artwork and equipment
  • follow instructor directions
  • stay within public areas (not staff-only zones)

🧼 Clean-Up & Materials

βœ” Studio Tools

Please handle brushes, sponges, tools, and glazes with care and return them to the designated areas. Most often, we ask that you leave the mess to us and we will clean your brushes and other tools.

βœ” Messes

Creativity can be messy β€” and that’s okay!
Our staff will assist with cleanup, but we appreciate guests keeping their workspaces tidy and notifying us of any spills.
